How it Works
Our on-site workshop goes beyond a training day. It combines structured classroom instruction and supervised hands-on practice with a consultative, partnership-focused approach — because real improvement happens when your team leaves with the knowledge, confidence, and a clear plan to raise the bar on safety.
Workshop Overview
Our standard on-site training session is structured into four key segments:
Classroom Instruction
The training begins in a classroom setting with a lesson on Understanding Liability and the Importance of Proper Securement. This is followed by a review of your organization’s wheelchair and occupant securement equipment, and a detailed explanation of the Essential Securement Principles used to safely and effectively secure passengers using wheelchairs.
Hands-On Securement Practice
Participants engage in hands-on securement practice to apply the principles covered in the classroom. This interactive portion allows trainees to gain confidence and proficiency in real-world securement scenarios.
Securing Difficult Devices
The final instructional segment addresses wheelchairs and mobility devices that are challenging to secure. We explore strategies for applying securement principles when standard approaches are difficult or seemingly impossible.
Group Final Exam
The training concludes with a fun and engaging group exam to reinforce key concepts and encourage team participation.
